The Rotating Surprise…

One can’t help marvel at the creations of our forefathers given the materials, tooling, and technology of the turn of the 20th century. They have withstood the test of time as they continue to faithfully operate 100 years later. This is true with the Mighty Wurlitzer as well as many other fascinating creations of the day.
The Shanklin Music Hall is fortunate to be able to frequently have a period vehicle on display during the tours that follow the shows.

Tours this spring will be featuring a 1913 Ahrens-Fox fire engine.
It is the oldest known motorized example of the marque that was known as “The Rolls Royce of fire apparatus.”
