The Hidden Workings of the Inner Sanctum…

The Shanklin Music Hall is unlike any other facility of its kind in the world. It is dedicated to the preservation, presentation, and education of the Wurlitzer Theatre Pipe Organ from the by-gone days of the turn of the 20th century. As a result, our installation of the Wurlitzer is done in such a way that we are fortunate to be able to allow visitors into the inner workings. That’s right! After each show, we try to conduct tours so people can see the wind source, the control relay, the ducting, and all of the intricate pipework within the two massive chambers. This is a “must-see” for any newcomer to the hall.
